What should be noted when purchasing PVC edge banding?1. The surface should be smooth, free of bubbles and draw marks, and have a moderate gloss.
2. Both the front and back surfaces should be flat, with a uniform thickness and a consistent width.
3. The hardness should be reasonable. The higher the elasticity, the better the quality and the stronger the wear resistance.
4. After edge trimming, the closer the color on the side of the edge banding is to the surface color, the better. There should be no obvious whitening and the gloss should be good. Otherwise, it indicates that the materials used for the edge banding are of poor quality, which will lead to a poor overall color coordination of the furniture product.
5. The back - side treatment agent should be evenly coated. Generally, a transparent or white treatment agent is preferred. If the back - side treatment is improper, it will result in a low bonding strength after edge banding, or even poor adhesion.
6. The color of each batch of edge banding should be consistent. The smaller the color difference between different batches, the better the quality.
7. The edge banding should not be brittle and have no notches when trimmed and cut.
8. Stick transparent packaging tape (the tape used for sealing cartons) on the edge banding, and rub the position where the packaging tape is pasted with your finger several times, and then pull it up. The purpose of this test is to check whether the edge banding has any discoloration. |
